Road Running and Trail Running

Fortius Coaching athletes will do most of the group runs during the weekend on the trails of Southern California.

With hundreds of mile of trail running opportunities we will be heading to the trails as often as possible.


Benefits of trail running:

  • Increased power and force
  • Strengthening of muscles, tendons, ligaments
  • Improved bone density
  • Increased flexibility
  • Faster recovery from long runs

  • Griffith Park
  • Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park
  • Encino Hills/Mulholland 
  • Boney Mountain/Pt. Mugu State Park
  • Malibu Creek State Park
  • Chesebro Canyon 


What to bring on trail runs:

  • Dress in layers
  • Fully-charged cell phone
  • Fuel Belt or Camelbak for hydration with a minimum of 60 oz. of water
  • Minimum of 1000 calories
  • Patience
  • Long shorts, long sleeve shirts, hat or bandana, sunblock, wipes,
  • GPS watch
